SPI/FilmBox and Türksat/KabloTV Expand Their Digital and Linear Partnership

SPI/FilmBox and Türksat/KabloTV announce that they have expanded their digital and linear partnership for three more years. The new agreement will also render SPI’s FilmBox Extra channel available to Türksat/KabloTV subscribers in Turkey. The channel content will also be accessible on demand via FilmBox Live.

Global media company SPI/FilmBox and Turkey’s largest cable operator Türksat/KabloTV announced that they have renewed and expanded their longstanding linear and digital partnership. The new agreement guarantees Türksat/KabloTV subscribers continued access to eight unique channels from SPI’s portfolio for an additional three years, along with SPI’s content streaming service, FilmBox Live. In addition to the renewal, the deal also makes SPI’s premium movie channel FilmBox Extra available to the subscribers in an add-on package. FilmBox Extra content will also be available to watch on demand through FilmBox Live, which is available to Türksat/KabloTV subscribers at a discounted special price, through a joint offer by FilmBox and Türksat.

FilmBox Extra is one of SPI’s premium movie channels, and is available in over 10 countries, reaching around 7 million households worldwide. The channel offers a wonderful selection of Hollywood blockbusters in full HD, and hundreds of premiere titles every year.

SPI International Acquires Seven New Documentaries from Beyond Rights Limited

SPI International signed a new content acquisition deal with Beyond Rights Limited for all worldwide TV and VOD rights of seven documentaries from the latter’s catalogue. The freshly acquired programming will be available for broadcast on SPI’s linear and digital assets. 

SPI International and global content distributor Beyond Rights Limited have concluded a content acquisition deal which renders seven documentaries, that amount to a total of 23 hours of programming, available for broadcast on SPI’s linear and digital brand assets worldwide. Other platforms will also be able to air the content in their SPI branded corners.

“It is our pleasure to work with world class distributors like Beyond Rights Limited to bring such high-quality programming through our linear and digital operations to our audiences from all walks of life,” commented Revi Benshoshan, Director of Acquisitions at SPI International. “These seven brilliant documentaries are stellar additions to our programming portfolio that we are confident will please our audiences worldwide,” added Benshoshan.

The documentaries included in the agreement are:

Beyond Siberia (2 x 60’) – A group of adventure bikers embark upon a 30,000-kilometer motorbike ride from London to Magadan, pushing themselves and their bikes to the limit.

Inside Story (9 x 60’) – A prime time current affairs series that investigates major crime and inspiring stories and events that hit the headlines in Australia and beyond.

Pets, Vets & Debts (1 x 60’) – This documentary takes the viewer inside veterinary surgeries across the US and Canada to witness cutting edge technology being used to treat pets, even including prostheses.

Beyond Sahara (2 x 60’) – In a thrilling follow-up to Beyond Siberia, this documentary follows 16 motorbike riders across 20,000 grueling kilometers through Africa.

Police- Stop (10 x 30’) – This crime documentary series from the producers of hit crime shows Highway Patrol and Highway Cops, follows the men and women tasked with controlling illegal street racing, dangerous and drink driving, reckless speeding and other road-related crime across the city of Auckland, New Zealand. 

Wild and Dangerous (1 x 60’) – Wild & Dangerous peers into the relationships between people and their exotic pets and examines the issues that come with keeping undomesticated animals.

Cause of Death- Unknown (5 x 30’) – Cause of Death: Unknown explores cases where the circumstances of death may initially appear to be one thing but the investigation ultimately reveals something quite different.

SPI International and Orange Romania have inked a channel distribution deal for SPI’s flagship channel FilmBox. The deal will render the channel available in Orange Romania’s Orange World package, starting on September 1st

SPI/FilmBox continues to expand its footprint in Romania through a new channel distribution agreement with Orange Romania for its flagship FilmBox channel. As of September 1st, FilmBox, which reaches over 30 million households worldwide, will be available to Orange Romania subscribers in the operator’s Orange World package.
