Film1 Action Launches on Amazon Prime Video Channels in the Netherlands

Starting June 17, Film1 Action linear channel will be available on Amazon Prime Video Channels in the Netherlands. Prime members in the Netherlands can access the Film1 package as an add-on paid monthly subscription.

Film1 is delighted to announce that Film1 Action, one of the best performing linear channels in the Film1 bouquet, will be available on Amazon Prime Video Channels in the Netherlands starting June 17, 2021. Film1 Action will be included in the Film1 add-on package where Prime members can access a special curation of Hollywood blockbusters, popular movies and now exciting action features completing the lineup of Film1’s four linear channels and extensive on-demand selection.

Film1 successfully launched its three other linear channels – Film1 Premiere, Film1 Drama and Film1 Family – and a curated selection of on-demand content with Prime Video Channels in the Netherlands late last year. The Film1 package, which caters to different viewing habits with four linear channels and curated on-demand content, allows Prime members to enjoy critically-acclaimed titles such as: Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen, starring Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, and Hugh Grant; Roland ‘Independence Day’ Emmerich’s Midway which recounts the story of the Battle of Midway, told by the leaders and the sailors who fought it in WWII and Midsommar, starring Academy Award-nominated Florence Pugh about a young couple who spend a month in Sweden observing the summer rituals of an obscure commune called the Harga.

“The action genre is the most popular genre on Film1, which makes the inclusion of Film1 Action on Amazon Prime Video Channels in the Netherlands particularly relevant for Dutch viewers. At Film1, we are always committed to bringing the best and the most appealing content acquired from top distributors to our viewers,” said Jeroen Bergman, Managing Director at Film1.

Other highlights include: Hard Kill (2020), starring Bruce Willis; horror and crime drama movies Child’s Play (2019) and Penoza: The Final Chapter (2019); Academy Award-winners Django Unchained and Zero Dark Thirty, and 2019 action hits Rambo: Last Blood and Angel Has Fallen.

Film1 is available for Prime members in the Netherlands via the existing Prime Video app to watch anytime, anywhere on smart TVs, mobile, Amazon Fire TV Stick, game consoles and through the web. Prime members will be able access the content with the convenience of a single account, login and user experience through Prime Video so there’s no need to jump from app to app.

"Countdown" to SPI International’s New Theatrical Release Starring Elizabeth Lail As Cinemas Reopen in Israel

SPI International and Red Cape Distribution partner to bring thriller “Countdown”, starring Elizabeth Lail from Netflix’s popular series YOU, to Israel. The theatrical release which is set for May 27, 2021, marks the expansion of SPI International’s distribution arm in the region.

SPI International continues to expand its distribution arm across the globe. The global media company has partnered with Red Cape Distribution to bring horror/thriller movie “Countdown” to theaters in Israel. The date of the theatrical release is scheduled May 27, 2021. The deal marks SPI International’s first theatrical release in the region and the expansion of the company’s distribution arm.

“Though streaming has gained traction during the pandemic with the entire world consuming content from the comfort of their own homes, the social experience of shared viewing in theaters has proven to be difficult to replicate for entertainment providers. As the theaters in the country are gradually reopening after over a year, we are delighted to make our theatrical distribution debut in Israel with “Countdown” and continue to connect audiences through shared entertainment experiences,” said Alexandra Puiu, Sales Manager at SPI International. “SPI International, one of the leaders in worldwide content distribution, operates in six continents distributing films across many territories and our first theatrical release in Israel signifies the first of many to come for the region in the future,” added Puiu.

When a young nurse downloads an app that claims to predict exactly when a person is going to die, it tells her she only has three days to live. With time ticking away and death closing in, she must find a way to save her life before time runs out. Produced by STX Films, “Countdown” has accumulated up to $47,621,766 in the Box Office worldwide. The movie features breakthrough talent Elizabeth Lail, star of the hugely popular Netflix series YOU, based on the novels by Caroline Kepnes.

"We are thrilled to partner with SPI to expand our theatrical releases in Israel. After more than 15 months that cinemas were shut down, we feel that young audience are thirsty for entertainment and Countdown is the right "drink" at the right time. We are opening cinemas in Israel with it,” commented Ben Kalifi, CEO at Red Cape Distribution.
