SPI International Enlarges Its Presence at MIPCOM 2019

2019 marks a year of growth for SPI International and the strong team behind it is warming up before the big showcase at this year’s MIPCOM. One of the biggest buyers and distributors of theatrical films and television programming in the international market, SPI continues to expand both its team and footprint across the globe rapidly.

The company disclosed initial deals for its global Turkish drama channel, Timeless Drama Channel (TDC) earlier this year, which has since experienced an incredible surge in demand all over the world. SPI also announced the acquisition of the brand assets of Film1, the Dutch premium television and video-on-demand service at the beginning of July this year, adding Film1 PremiereFilm1 DramaFilm1 Action and Film1 Family to its extensive portfolio of TV channels and digital services. The latest development comes from the production front as SPI International recently unveiled its content production strategy which foregrounds new movies and TV series.

For almost a quarter of a century, SPI has attended MIPCOM as a buyer and seller of both channels and premium content. This year, SPI aims to grow its presence at the market with more channel and content offerings and a greater number of participants from the SPI International group.

This year’s MIPCOM will see a large group of attendees from the SPI family including executives from the content acquisition and channel distribution divisions along with members from the management board at Kino Polska TV S.ASPI International and Film1. Among the attendees are Loni Farhi (President at SPI International), Berk Uziyel (CEO at SPI International), Bogusław Kisielewski (President of the Management Board at Kino Polska TV), Haymi Behar (CMO at SPI International), and Jeroen Bergman (Managing Director at Film1).

SPI International is also getting ready to host two exciting events during MIPCOM 2019. There will be a market screening for the gangster comedy trilogy Mister Mayfair, starring Armand Assante, directed by Philippe Martinez and produced in partnership with 365 Flix International and UK based Goldfinch. The screening will take place on Monday, October 14th between 2:30 – 3:45 PM at Auditorium K, Palais Des Festivals, and will be followed by a cocktail event to celebrate great entertainment accompanied by live music at the Hotel Barrière Le Majestic between 6:00 – 8:30 PM.
