FilmBox launches new global strategy for linear channels and streaming

FilmBox, a key brand in SPI International’s global portfolio, will initiate transformation on June 10, unveiling a new strategy across linear channels and streaming service. The rebrand introduces a new value proposition, distinct positioning for each channel and service, and a new content strategy, alongside new names, logos, and audiovisual identities. 

The FilmBox rebranding marks a strategic milestone that brings greater consistency across the linear channels and streaming service, while clearly defining the positioning of each brand. The refreshed portfolio introduces FILMBOX+ OneFILMBOX+ Love & CrimeFILMBOX+ HitsFILMBOX+ EmotionFILMBOX+ ActionFILMBOX+ Comedy, and FILMBOX+ Festival, each tailored to distinct audience needs and content preferences. The transformation is completed by FILMBOX+ Stream - the renamed streaming service offering curated collections, a rich content library, and live TV channels for viewers who want to watch, not scroll. The service will launch under the new domain filmboxplus.stream.

Each channel, as well as the streaming service, will also receive a modern on‑air design and refreshed logo. The colour scheme has been carefully selected to facilitate channel differentiation and emphasize the unique character of each brand.  

The channels will continue to be distributed via leading cable and satellite operators in over forty countries, particularly across Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans.

SPI International extends partnership with Orange in Spain

SPI International is strengthening its presence in Spain by renewing its agreement with Orange (MasOrange Group, the leading player in the Spanish telecommunications market by number of customers). SPI’s tv channels Fast&FunBox, FightBox and Gametoon are available through Orange TV. The partnership between two companies has been extended through 2026, ensuring long-term stability.

Orange TV customers can continue to watch Fast&FunBox, available in the Sports Pack, a lifestyle channel driven by passion and curiosity with powerful documentaries showcasing spectacular journeys and sport disciplines; FightBox, also in the Sports Pack, the ultimate destination for combat sports fans with a non-stop arena of global fighting disciplines; and Gametoon, part of the Basic Pack, dedicated to esports and gaming. 

In addition to Orange TV, the channels are also available in the Spanish market through the offers of other MasOrange Group’s tv services such as Jazztel TV, Yoigo TV, MásMovil TV, and PepeTV.

SPI International partners with Markíza Group to launch advertising sales for FilmBox in Slovakia

SPI International has entered into a new strategic partnership with Markíza Group sales house, part of CME - one of the leading broadcasters and content creators in Central and Eastern Europe. Beginning March 16, Markíza Group will become the exclusive representative for advertising sales on FilmBox in Slovakia. 

FilmBox is among SPI International’s flagship brands, known for its broad entertainment offering that includes Hollywood films, beloved classics, and popular TV series enjoyed by a wide audience. For 20 years, the channel has been present on the Slovak and Czech market. 

This new partnership reflects our strategy of expanding SPI International’s advertising presence throughout the region, following the recent introduction of advertising on DIZI in Bulgaria. With Markíza Group on board, we are confident that FilmBox will achieve even stronger visibility and commercial success in Slovakia” - said Erwan Luherne, Managing Director at SPI International.  

Slovakia is among five CEE markets where SPI International operates its TV advertising business, together with Poland, Czechia, Hungary, and additionally Bulgaria. While FilmBox previously carried Czech‑language advertising in Slovakia, the company is now introducing advertising breaks localized in Slovak to better address local market needs.

The FilmBox channel is available for Slovak audiences through major local operators, including Skylink, Slovak Telekom, Digi and Orange, ensuring broad reach for advertisers.

SPI International and A1 Group launch FilmBox+ in Southeast Europe

SPI International’s streaming service FilmBox+ continues its dynamic expansion in Europe. Building on its established presence in Poland, Hungary, and Romania, the service officially launched in Bulgaria and Serbia with A1. The next A1 market to welcome FilmBox+ will be North Macedonia, followed by Slovenia and Croatia in the coming months.  

The launch is part of a broader agreement signed with A1 Group in June 2025, which encompasses the distribution of SPI’s TV channels and positions A1 as a key partner for product delivery. The collaboration ensures seamless integration and accessibility of FilmBox+ across the first two A1 markets last year, with further expansion in additional A1 markets, including North Macedonia in March and then Slovenia as well as Croatia. This strategic move marks another milestone in the development of SPI’s flagship digital product.
