SPI International / FILMBOX Channels Group has launched FUNBOX UHD channel on Qatar’s Ooredoo tv.
FUNBOX UHD is a global general entertainment channel broadcast in UHD quality. It features compelling primetime programming such as La Boheme – a cinematic opera captured in UHD and The Sea Chef – a documentary series hosted by Ángel León, the two-Michelin starred chef who searches for authentic sea flavors across the coast of Spain. FUNBOX UHD also airs native Ultra HD documentaries on nature, wildlife, society, music videos, sports, arts and culture and more.
With FUNBOX UHD on Ooredoo tv, viewers can enjoy breathtaking visual content, more detail, contrast dynamics and extended colors.
The FUNBOX UHD channel is available to all subscribers of Ooredoo tv, including ‘Essentials’ subscribers, as the company continues to offer leading international and local content to its customers.

SPI International / FILMBOX Channels Group and UPC DTH have extended their collaboration in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary to provide UPC Direct and freeSAT customers with a new application, FilmBox Live. This new online service will be part of the FilmBox Pack which is available on both platforms.
As part of the on-going commitment to enhance the product value proposition for subscribers, FilmBox Live will be added to the current FilmBox Pack. This unique product will allow FilmBox Pack subscribers to watch live-streaming channels and enjoy the FilmBox VOD library with unlimited access to the Filmbox Live multiscreen on-demand service.
In addition to Hollywood blockbusters, award-winning films and TV series, FilmBox Live features documentaries, sports programming as well as fashion and music videos. Among the newly acquired series included in the FilmBox Live library are BBC’s six-part adaptation of Tolstoy’s War and Peace, as well as BBC’s Wolf Hall, a historical drama chronicling the rise of Thomas Cromwell. FilmBox Live will also present 13 episodes of Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands, the British epic fantasy drama television series.
The service gives access to a number of live channels including FilmBox movie channels as well as international thematic channels: FightBox HD - for martial arts lovers, DocuBox HD - the documentary channel, Fast&FunBox HD - dedicated to extreme/adventure sports, FashionBox HD - featuring fashion content, FilmBox Art House an independent, art house movie channel and 360TuneBox for music fans.

FUNBOX 4K/UHD was launched last week becoming the first premium TV channel in 4K/UHD standard in the country.
