UPC DTH/Focus Sat in Romania adds DocuBox, FightBox and Eroxxx channels from SPI portfolio

DocuBox, FightBox and Eroxxx HD channels have been successfully launched with Focus Sat, Romania's satellite TV operator managed by UPC DTH.

Focus Sat has added DocuBox and FightBox to the existing FilmBox premium package which already offers a strong line-up of movie channels namely FB Plus, FB Family, FB Extra HD and FB Premium.

DocuBox features a large selection of documentary films covering wild life, nature, human civilization and TV programming exploring the mysteries and beauty of our planet. FightBox is a 24/7 martial arts channel presenting a variety of disciplines as well as live MMA and kickboxing events. Eroxxx features adult TV programming from the world’s top adult content producers and is offered in the existing Activ premium adult package.

Kino Polska TV S.A. Capital Group Reports Successful Results for 2016

Kino Polska TV S.A. Capital Group announced 2016 year-end results. The Group reported revenues of nearly 114 mln PLN, with the EBITDA exceeding 48 mln PLN.

The Group’s sales revenues increased by 6% comparing to the previous year. This was primarily due to the revenue growth generated from broadcasting movie channels and the Group’s thematic channels. The Group’s EBITDA increased by 7% comparing to 2015.

At the end of 2016 Kino Polska TV S.A. ranked as the eighth largest television group in Poland with an average audience share of 1.90% (SHR 16-49 in December 2016, including the terrestrial channel Stopklatka TV which is broadcast by a company  jointly controlled by Kino Polska TV S.A.). Throughout 2016 Telewizja Kino Polska channel reached an average audience of more than 23 thousand viewers (AMR 4+), an increase of 3.6% comparing to the 2015 results. The channel reported 0.36% SHR of total audience and a similar result across the 16-49 commercial segment.

Zoom TV, a brand new terrestrial channel in the Group’s portfolio was launched in October 2016 in Poland. The network is broadcast by Cable Television Networks & Partners Sp. z o.o., a company controlled by Kino Polska TV S.A. In its first broadcasting weeks Zoom TV achieved promising viewing results and reported steady growth trend:  50% SHR increase in the commercial group for December 2016 in comparison to the previous month.

SPI / FILMBOX launches new Filmbox OnDemand online and STB service with Magyar Telekom in Hungary

Global Pay TV operator SPI / FILMBOX launches a new online and STB service called “Filmbox OnDemand” with Magyar Telekom, Hungary's largest telecommunication operator.

Filmbox OnDemand, offers a custom selection of Filmbox library and consists of both movies and TV series which air on Filmbox channels. Magyar Telekom has made Filmbox OD available within its sVoD platform MoziKlub.
 
“We are excited to offer not only our channels but also a brand new online on-demand service to Telekom customers,” Tamas Fulop, SPI’s Operation Director for CEE countries comments on the new development. “With Filmbox OD, beside the STB service, we also give viewers non-linear online access on any type of device, beyond traditional TV channels to top quality content whenever and wherever they want to watch it,” Mr. Fulop adds.
 
“Magyar Telekom seeks to offer its customers a wide variety of programming and genres, meeting their demands by allowing them to watch the content they love. We are delighted that Filmbox OnDemand is available within our MoziKlub platform, an on-demand (sVoD) service in 2017,” said Rajki Annamária, Head of Media and Content Management, Magyar Telekom.

SPI launches Gametoon and FilmBox Art House networks on Sling TV

SPI/FILMBOX Channels Group has launched two additional thematic channels in the U.S. on Sling TV.

The newly added SPI networks are Gametoon and FilmBox Art House. They are now available to viewers in the U.S. as part of the English bonus pack.

The channel gives its viewers a unique opportunity to play games on their mobile devices and share scores along with avatars on air. FilmBox Art House is an international award-winning movie network which presents masterpieces of world cinema as well as a diverse selection of festival films and independent productions from all around the globe.
 
Sling TV already carries multiple channels from SPI’s worldwide TV portfolio including DocuBox HD, FightBox HD, FashionBox HD, Fast&FunBox HD, 360TuneBox and NatureVision TV.  The service also offers two ethnic channels from the SPI’s portfolio – Kino Polska International and Kino Polska Muzyka International, which cater to the Polish-American viewers.
